Product Overview
Vulcan LG400 45-50 lb Gas Floor Fryer - 120,000 BTU - Propane
The LG400 commercial fryer requires fewer BTUs resulting in lower operating costs for your restaurant.
This freestanding model fryer is available in 45-50 lb oil capacity with 120,000 BTU. It includes twin fry baskets with plastic coated handles and drain extension. This propane gas fryer has a large "V" shaped cold zone and 1 1/4" port ball valve that helps preserve oil used in the fryer by catching leftover food particles and cooling them, which prevents them from burning and tainting the oil. A door snap action millivolt thermostat control allows the temperature to be adjusted from 200° to 400°F. This helps in avoiding the requirement of an electric hook-up.
The LG400 is constructed with a stainless steel front top and reinforced door. The stainless steel fry tank has a five five-year limited tank warranty. To ensure the door is closed properly an earth magnet has been used. A door liner has also been added for added stability.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the 120,000 BTU output on the Vulcan LG400 Floor Fryer 45-50 lb. Capacity Liquid Propane deliver in real production?
Rated at 120,000 BTU on liquid propane, the LG400 recovers oil temperature fast between baskets, which is the difference between consistent crispy fries and soggy disappointment during a rush. That output suits restaurants frying continuously through peak service.
How does the 45-50 lb oil capacity on the Vulcan LG400 Floor Fryer match real-world kitchen demand?
The 45-50 lb tank handles full chicken pieces, large basket loads of fries, and battered fish without temperature crash, making it a strong fit for casual dining, pubs, and fish-and-chip shops. Smaller cafés can step down to a countertop unit instead.
Why is the reinforced door on the Vulcan LG400 worth noting for high-volume operations?
Reinforced for daily abuse, the LG400 door survives years of fryer baskets, oil pumps, and cleaning rods being leaned against it without warping. Combined with the stainless steel front top, it's why Vulcan fryers stay rigid long after lighter brands flex.
Does the Vulcan LG400 Floor Fryer require special venting under Canadian fire code?
Yes, like all gas fryers, the LG400 requires a Type I commercial hood with proper makeup air, plus an NFPA 96-compliant fire suppression system. Skipping certified venting fails municipal building inspection and voids insurance, regardless of how light the menu use is.
When should the oil in the Vulcan LG400 Floor Fryer be filtered and changed?
Filter the oil daily through a dedicated fryer filter machine, top up between filtrations as needed, and fully change the oil every 4 to 7 days based on volume and food type. Restaurants frying fish and breaded items go through oil faster than fries-only operations.
Can the Vulcan LG400 be moved while the oil is hot?
No, hot oil sloshing from a moving fryer is one of the leading kitchen burn hazards and a fire risk. Always cool the unit fully, drain the oil through the manufacturer-installed valve, and only then move on the casters for cleaning behind the line.
Which warranty applies to the Vulcan LG400 Floor Fryer?
The LG400 is constructed with a stainless steel front top and reinforced door, and the stainless steel fry tank carries a 5-year limited tank warranty. Pair the unit with a matching basket from our commercial deep fryers range and keep your purchase invoice for warranty service, alongside complementary pieces in our commercial cooking equipment collection.
